What is Knit for Kids?

Knit for Kids unites thousands of knitters and crocheters to fight poverty with their needles. With every stitch, we give hope and warmth to vulnerable children living in poverty.

How to Get Started

Do you love to knit or crochet? You can give warmth and comfort to children in need throughout the year!

Although the seasons change, there are always children in need of warm clothing. Even infants in warmer climates need help to survive their first months of life!

We’ll send your precious gifts to children as far away as Armenia, Nicaragua, Swaziland, and Tanzania, and as close to home as Appalachia, New Orleans, and the Bronx. (See video from our sweater distribution in the Bronx.)

Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Download a pattern.
  2. Knit or crochet an infant cap, blanket, or child sweater.
  3. Mail your sweater.
